Whats the best way to network your business? I'm a distributor of food products and I'd like to meet Food and Beverage managers of various establishments so I can talk to them about my products.
Whats the best way to network your business?
You can buy mailing lists of food and beverage managers. You can sort the list by zip code and send everyone in your area a post card. If the list includes email address, you can send them emails instead of post cards. (If you send them an email, use an email service, like Constant Contact, so you can track if they opened your email and how long they read it and if they forwarded it.)
You can then follow up with a phone call, introduce yourself and try to set up a meeting.
I would target a few smaller places first, so you can test out different pitches and see what works best. Once you have perfected your pitch and understand what people want, you can go big.
Attend food and beverage conferences and events. You can get some solid leads at a convention or conference from people who are ready and able to buy your products.
Have an up-to-date website where people can see your products and contact you. You never know who will give you a call. (You might do a little web site advertising on Yahoo or Google to drive some hits to your site. It's a pretty specific category, so people who hit your website are looking for your products. They probably are not random web surfers.)
You have to set some goals too. Something specific - like call 10 potiential customers/day. Book 10 meetings a week. Close X number of sales per month.
Write it all down and keep track of who you contacted and their response. You can circle back to those people in 6-9 months.
Most of all -- keep trying. Keep meeting potiential customers.
The best sales people are the ones who know their products, keep trying everday and don't get discouraged.
Reply:I am answering your question in the hope that I get ideas for my new venture into real estate sales and purchasing.
I want to get involved with a handful of intelligent people with like ambitions, who want to build real estate empires based on sound principles that I have learned.
I'm trying internet searches and emailing some people I've found.
Until I find that right mix of friendly, work oriented, serious and like minded people who want what I want (which is a larger piece of the American dream before others take it), I'll just keep searching.
When you are in the right network of success oriented people, everything should work like clockwork and each should strive for the betterment of the group.
This is what I am looking for, and I believe that's what you also are looking for.
