Dear all, i like to start small business. kindly guide me?

i am a M.Com PGDCA, 42 yrs old. at present i am in Bahrain %26amp; i would like to settle in Tamilnadu, Dindigul dist., native. i am not having sufficient money %26amp; my plan is to get a loan from Bank %26amp; to start a small business near to my home town. can you briefly guide me the source of money %26amp; marketing the product. my strength is sincere, hardwork %26amp; loyal. i don't want work for others %26amp; i am not interested in Chain network business like Amway. i like to utilise my brain %26amp; like to meet the chellanging jobs. my idea behind to start the business is to have a self-respect %26amp; have a business for my boy who is studying 4th std. i did not update my computer knowledge past 7 years due to financial reasons. any guidance or help to me is highly appreciated. PGDCA means Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Applications. It is a one year course after graduation ( degree ) for students interested in Computer applications. this course was started for people to learn computer applications in different fields like banking ,insurance and accounting. It looks like this is mainly a type of degree offered in India. I do not know the actual qualifications you may/may not have. What kinds of systems are you trained on? You said your computer knowledge is not up to date for the last 7 years. In my eyes that is a huge problem, if your degree is in compuer applications. A lot can change with computer systems in 7 years. I would advise you to continue your education and get a better more distingished degreen that had a more specific focus. From what I can glean from of your post you are qualified to work on a general computer system like answering calls from over seas or the like. I do not think you are qualified to run your own business yet. I am afraid the banks will agree too- you do not have enough current computer experience or a specialized degree to grant you a loan. You need to think about what you would actually like to do, not just a job that you are in charge of and provides you with self respect and a decent income. What are you really interested in? For example- if you loved to fish (and you are near the ocean) you could specialize in running an international fish business. You could hire crews to catch fish, have a facilty for porcessing them and them shipping or preserving them . You need to know what YOU want to do though. You also need to realize that in America (where I am) business experts recommend tha tyou have a MINIMUM of 1 full years wages and business expenses in the bank (saved) BEFORE you open any business. You need to have classes in how to run a business, accounting (so you can balance you ledgers/books) customer service skill etc. I really think you should suck it up and work for someone else for the time being until you can save some money and go back to school yourself, once you have a better idea of what you want to do. Sorry if this is dissappointing but I would hate to have you fail in your endevour.

Reply:No matter how small business you want to start you will need money to put it in motion. Without indicating what type of business you have in mind, you are setting yourself on wild goose chase.
