Wanting to start my own computer repair business?

Well, I have seen many try and many fail. But most of the flops I have seen were because the people didn't care about their customers.


I currently do not have the money it takes to open an office location for my business. I would like to do it out of home, unfortunately I feel that people won't take me so seriously and will not want to do business with me. I am very experience and have worked as a computer technician in the past but I am not certified.


I was just curious if this is a bad/good idea? Anyone have any success stories of such ventures? I have done work on the side and have numerous loyal customers unfortunately for me I like to fix things right the first time so they don't need my business often.


I plan to offer custom built computers, hardware/software repairs, virus adware/spyware removal, networking (both business and home), and pretty much everything that has to do with computer problems.


Any advice, words of encouragement, helpful info, etc.?

If operating a business from home allows you to economically run a business, your customers won't care. Why not provide on-site service to your customers? If you have an area of your home you can set up exclusively for business you can claim tax deductions for a home based business. Start off at home and then consider a retail location. You'll find that working from home is not always a wonderful idea because of the distractions. When you do get the income rolling you can consider a remote location which will let you write off your space, utilities, advertising, etc as costs of doing business but until you have a client base, start at home. Make sure you get adequate insurance, pay taxes, get all necessary permits and licenses, and get your name out there to build your business. The SBA can offer free advice to you as an entrepreneur:

If you treat people fairly from the beginning, the word will get around. Don't brag about what you want to do; just do it. If you're on the up and up people will see it in your actions and your words. There are too many people out there who want to make a million without putting in the effort. The real you is who you are when no body's looking. Your real intent will shine through and you will prosper. Don't forget the little guy. A lot of little guys will make you a winner.

Well, friend, I quite agre with you and can understand your situation because I too soemtimes feel like that that people will not take me seriously. I am interested in web and soft development and sesigning. And I believe that I can do it well but I have not got any degree.





Any ways, I am not going to go in detials about me. So let me tell you what you should do now.





Look, if you think and feel that you can do great in this field then just go ahead! Don't look back! Don't care what the world says!





I tell you a short story here. A boy had to recite hi poem at the prayers time. Well, when he went onto the stage and no sooner did he started and his clas teacher said "NO!"





Well, he went back and stood in the row where he was before. Now another student recited the same poem and the teacher again said: "No!" But he continued and didn't stop. Well, he was rewarded!





Tthe boy being disappointed said to the teacher: "Sir, I was also reciting in the same way and very well then why did you stop me?" The teacher smiled and said: "People will always say "no" to you in many ways:





No! You can't do that!

No! You will get nothing out of it... and so many ways that they have got!





But you have to do it and prove it!"

But, wait, do you care care the world or your own self and interest? Which do you believe more- yourself or the world?





Well, friend, to be friendly, I suggest you to start your own business anyhow you can do it. You will get recognized when your time comes and it will depend upon your iron will.





I am here in New Delhi now. I have been struggling here for over 4 months for a good job and I know how I have beeb here. But still not losing my hope. Friend, I don't know what is going to be with me but I still believe that "I can do it!" attitude does work!
