We have about 60 users running XP and windows 2000 machines. Hows do I monitor the amount of time each user spends on the internet? Also how do I monitor the amount of downloads?
How do I monitor internet usage within our business network.?
Well since you don't take care of a large enterprise network using a 3rd party to monitor your bandwidth and what sites your users go to because the fees would be pretty substantial. There are many software and hardware solutions on the market. You could use a software solutions like Websence or Surf Control which will monitor and block offensive sites, or a proxy server. You could also use the two in combination
Reply:set counters, there are so many softwares today, you can find them and install them,
Reply:The huge company that I work for pays for their internet per bytes for each user. We have to sign on with an RACF password and it will track the sites they go to and the dollar amount billed to the company.
Reply:You can monitor the total activity from a company via it's connection-hosting, I.E., the web-service provider. This is usually on the bill, but you can ask for it if it is not on the bill. Not sure how you monitor it individually, but i did some research on it for you, and I know you can get software that monitors individual users and their activities for that specific cause. You might want to speak with someone from a specializied computer store about that, stores such as altec or CompUSA
